See this page to request a research consultation with a librarian for one-on-one assistance in finding relevant information for research papers and other projects.

A research consultation may include instruction on how to use the University Libraries' online catalog and other online resources. Penn State librarians are also familiar with many of the class assignments that require use of the library.

In addition librarians can help with:

  • Finding hard to find information (new and old books, magazines, newspapers, research journals, and more)
  • Choosing the most relevant databases
  • Improving a research strategy
  • Critically evaluating information
  • Citing sources properly

Research consultations will generally occur Monday-Friday, though special arrangements for other times may be made by mutual agreement.

All others may visit Penn State University Libraries' ASK page to contact a librarian by chat, email, or phone.  Librarians are also happy to help visitors at any of our locations.
