Get 24-hour technology assistance by contacting the IT Service Desk. You can also search for documentation on a number of technology tools in the Penn State Knowledge Base.

Software Walkthrough sessions are also available by request to assist students, faculty, and staff with commonly used Penn State software. These sessions are free of charge and can be scheduled as either remote or in-person appointments. In-person sessions will be held at the Knowledge Commons in Pattee Library. Please submit your request online using the Software Walkthrough Session Request Form at least 24 hours before your desired session time. 

At the University Park campus, the IT Service Desk is located in the Knowledge Commons, 1st Floor West Pattee Library. Also known as the "Green Team," the IT Service Desk provides hands-on technology support on personal devices, such as your laptop, iPad or other tablet, smartphone and even your desktop computer. 

The various services include:

  • On campus wireless connectivity for laptops and mobile devices
  • Hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Hardware installation
  • Software troubleshooting and installation
  • Virus/Spyware detection and removal
  • Data back-up and migration
  • Reformatting an operating system
  • Many others!
