With the construction of the Paterno Library in 1999, the Rare Books Room, Historical Collections and Labor Archives, and Penn State Room (University Archives) condensed into a single unit called the Eberly Family Special Collections Library in 104 Paterno Library. This space houses the three previously separate departments as a singular unit, though the names are still used to distinguish which collections they are part of in the catalog records.
