The microformat collections on 2nd floor Paterno at University Park are available for use in person by anyone.  The microforms can be accessed anytime the library is open, however, those requiring assistance should stop by during the hours our service desk is staffed. Desk hours here,https://libraries.psu.edu/monthly-hours?library=347170

Non-Penn State users who want to make scans from the microfilm will need to create an account with Penn State in order to log-in to the scanner workstations.  This is free and can be done here, https://accounts.psu.edu/

There is an older reader on 2 Paterno that does not require establishing a Penn State account. Users would be able to view microfilm on this machine, but not make scans.  (some users take photos of the pages).

Community users interested in microforms in locations other than 2 Paterno should inquire at that location about access.

Patrons unable to visit Penn State should contact their local library about requesting microformat materials through Interlibrary Loan.  We lend reels to other libraries of most microform collections.  The patron should check to make sure their local library has the equipment to view microformats.
