Overdue and Late Fees Waived / Forgiven
In an expression of support of the University Libraries borrower community, all borrowers of Libraries materials who may have incurred overdue fees between Dec. 20, 2019 and March 15, 2020 were notified that those fees have been forgiven. No new fees have been applied to borrowers' accounts since March 15, 2020.
All due dates for all PSU library items have been extended to 8/13/20 with future extensions possible. Those materials will be renewed again during the summer for those who are planning to return to campus in the fall, dependent upon University decisions on resuming on-campus instruction. In addition, all recall notices for items have been suspended through the summer. For previous recalls, no one will be penalized for returning books late, given the current situation. Accounts will be adjusted when the book is returned.
Check My Library Account for updated due dates and your account status.
Please do not return any library materials at this time unless absolutely necessary. Returns will not be processed and will remain on your library account until the library resumes regular operations.
If you must return items before the library reopens, you may return them to outdoor library book drops, if available, or use the Ask a Librarian service for information about returning materials to a specific campus library. Materials will remain on student accounts until Libraries employees are on site to process returns.
At University Park, the Pattee/Paterno Library book return is located at the East entrance on Curtin Road. If the Library is closed when you return items, they will be backdated when we open again.
You may also return books by mail to:
Penn State University Libraries
127 Paterno Library, Curtin Rd.
University Park, PA 16802
Or email email@example.com to make other arrangements.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) staff are working to renew ILL items for users. If you receive ILLiad notices, do not worry about the due dates. PALCI-EZBorrow books are now due 6/5/20. We understand items are unable to be returned at this time.
You may return the book when the library reopens and when you are able. The library is currently closed (March/April/May/June/July 2020).
University Libraries' Media and Technology Support Services equipment rented during the spring semester has been renewed for students who plan to return to campus, and department staff asks that students wait to return equipment until in-person instruction resumes.
Graduating students who possess rented equipment may return items by mail and should contact the department for instructions at MediaTechSupport@psu.edu. The department is investigating options for providing postage-paid mail service and will provide instructions as they become available.
