Question: I see a lock screen in Canvas. How do I get around that?

Answer: The lock screen appears when your browser is not accepting third party cookies. Try a different  browser or try adjusting the cookie settings in the browser you are using. Try https://www.wikihow.com/Enable-Cookies-and-JavaScript for instructions for different browsers.

Question: The E-Book asks me for a log in. What do I do?

Answer: The E-Book link may be incorrect. Go to the Libraries homepage: https://libraries.psu.edu/ and paste the title of the E-Book directly into Find, Books Articles and More. A link to your E-Book should appear in the search results. Please also let us know at Course Reserves Services so we can update the link.

Question: Why can’t I print or download everything in some E-Books?

Answer: Our E-Books are purchased from a variety of different e-book vendors and some of them impose restrictions on downloading and printing. These restrictions may vary depending on the provider.

Question: How do I get the E-Book if it says it's checked out?

Question: Why can't I read library E-Books on my Kindle?

Answer: Most E-Books available from Amazon or other retailers are licensed for single users on their approved, often proprietary, devices. Library E-Books are licensed for use by all PSU faculty, students and staff for use across multiple, but more generalized, platforms.
